Early Life:

Prodip Hazarika is a resident of Sonowal Gaon (village) in Amguri district of Assam. He is an Asom Gana Parishad politician from Assam. His age is about 66 years. He is married to Purabi Hazarika who is a doctor. They are blessed with a son named Sudarshan Hazarika.

Education:

He passed HSLC (Class X) examination from Amguri Higher Secondary School in 1969. He qualified PU (Class 12/XII/Higher Secondary) and B.Sc from St Edmunds College in 1972 and 1976 respectively. Then he pursued M.Sc in Botany from Gauhati University.

Career and Politics:

Prodip Hazarika is a doctor by profession. He contested Assam Assembly elections in 1985, 1996, 2006 and 2016.

This is the fifth time he shall be contesting the Assam Assembly Elections as an AGP candidate from Amguri constituency that goes to poll in Phase I, voting for which is scheduled to be held on March 27.
