Political career

RupakSarmahhas a stationary goods business. He is the sitting MLA of Nowgong. He is contesting the Assam State election, 2021, from the Nowgong constituency again as a BJP candidate to retain his seat. He got elected as an MLA from the Nowgong constituency in the Assam State Legislative Assembly election, 2016.
