Early Life:

Atul Bora is a resident of Hatigarh, Hill Side, Geetanagar Guwahati in Kamrup district of Assam. He is the son of Late Durlabh Bora. Atul Bora is 69 years old. He is married to Dr.Gitarani Hazarika Bora, she is a Reader at Regional Dental College, Guwahati (Assam).

Education:

He has completed B.A from Gauhati University in 1987.

Career and Politics:

Atul Bora is the BJP and is the sitting MLA from the Dispur constituency in the 14th Assam Assembly. In the 2016 Assembly election, Atul Bora (BJP) defeated INC's Akon Bora with 1,98,378 votes. Bora got 68,181 votes.

In 2011 Assembly election, INC's Akon Boradefeated AGP's Atul Borawith 83,096 votes. Atul Bora got 74,849 votes.

He had won the 1985 Assam Assembly election and was a Minister in the Prafulla Mahanta-led AGP Government.

He is once again contesting the 2021 Assam Assembly Election from Dispur constituency on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket.
