International webinar organized at Paschim Guwahati Mahavidyala

GUWAHATI: An international webinar was organized on Tuesday by the Women's Cell and Study Centre of Paschim Guwahati Mahavidyala on the topic "Role of AI in Combating COVID-19". The webinar was inaugurated by Dr Rana Sarma, Principal of the college and webinar lecture was delivered by Abhilasha Nanda, PhD research scholar from KAIST university of South Korea.

It was an interesting session as the resource person talked on the relevant subject by highlighting recent developments in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and stories of success achieved by the countries adopting AI tools in industry, agriculture, business and more importantly in combating epidemics with special emphasis on COVID-19. At the end, interactive session between resource person and the participants was held which was coordinated by Phanindra Medhi, Head of Philosophy department by replying to their questions on various fields touched by AI. Vote of thanks was offered by Ira Choudhury, Associate Professor of Economics. Dr Probalika Sarma, Associate Professor of English department was moderator of the webinar while Parul Baishya, vice Principal and Chairperson of the Women's Cell and Study Centre; Mrs Saraswati Rajbongshi, Assistant professor and convenor of the Women's Cell and Study Centre were highly appreciated for their valuable contributions in organizing the Webinar.
