JAMUGURIHAT: Sootea LAC MLA Padma Hazarika laid the foundation stone of a new office building, central library-cum-art and craft school Kalabithika of ALOK, a leading socio-cultural and dramatic organization of greater Nagsankar area near here on August 30. Before the ceremony, one minute silence was observed in memory of legendary artiste Archana Mahanta and Shantana Bhuyan, recently expired headmistress of Nagsankar Government JBS. Addressing the small gathering, MLA Padma Hazarika praised the social activities carried out by the members of ALOK and promised to release a fund for construction of modern conference hall. The programme was also attended by Hitesh Baruah, ZPC member of Nagsankar, Prdep Nath, Parbati Sarmah, G. P presidents of Madhya and Dakhin Nagsankar Gaon Panchayat respectively, Maromi Hazarika, councilor; Nagsankar along with Dulu Gogoi, Pradeep Saikia. Putul Bora; president of ALOK chaired the meeting while former secretary Padmeswar Saikia carried out the proceedings.
