Federation submits memo to resume construction of four-laner

 From our correspondent

Itanagar, Aug 12: The All Arunachal Public Transport Federation (AAPTF) led by its president Dobing Sonam in a memorandum to Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein appealed to immediately start the proposed four lane construction work along the Itanagar-Banderdewa highway. Lamenting that the authority and department concerned were not living up to their assurance as given to federation on several occasions earlier over the matter, the AAPFT stated that work for the highway has still not started even though a positive nod has been given by the State and the Central government to resume the construction. It has been learnt that, except a few, most of the affected land owners are ready to part with their land for the construction of the highway. Even former MLA Kipa Babu recently wrote a letter to the executing agency extending his cooperation to expedite the project. Babu even offered his land as well as equipment to carrying out the eviction process. Despite all this, the State is yet to implement the project, the federation wrote in its letter. Further claiming that it has waited for six months already after submitting its first representation and nothing has been done in this regard, the AAPTF further threatened that it would soon launch a democratic movement.
