Assam Olympic Association to celebrate International Olympic Day today

GUWAHATI: The International Olympic Day will be celebrated centrally in Dibrugarh on Friday under the initiative of Assam Olympic Association and in association with Dibrugarh District Sports Association. An ‘Olympic Day run’ will be held from Chowkidingee field to Jalan Outdoor Stadium which will begin at 6.30 am. The secretary of the Assam Olympic Associations Lakhya Konwar informed the media that around 2,000 athletes will take part in the mass jogging which will be flagged off by Union Minister and President of Assam Olympic Association Sarbananda Sonowal. The event will also be attended by Cultural Affairs Minister Bimal Bora. Meanwhile, the Annual General Meeting of the Assam Olympic Association will be held at the Jalan Outdoor Stadium from 12 pm.
