Bharat Chandra Narah is from Boginadi Majgaon village in the district of Lakhimpur. He is 63 years old. His father's name is Late Tileswar Chayengia. He got married to Mrs. Ranee Narah.
Education:
He has completed his graduation from Cotton College in the year 1981 and Masters of Arts in Political Science from Gauhati University in the year 1984.
Career and Politics:
- In the 2016 Assam election, he contested from the Dhakuakhana constituency. Bharat Chandra Narah (INC) was defeated by Naba Kumar Doley of BJP with 57014 votes.
- In the 2011 elections he was defeated by Naba Kumar Doley of AGP. Doley polled 56456 votes while Naba secured 63963 votes.
- In the 2006 elections, from the Dhakuakhana constituency, Narah defeated Mahesh Kumar Doley of AGP.
- In the 2001 elections, from the Dhakuakhana constituency, Narah defeated Deben Pegu of BJP.
- In the 1996 election, from the Dhakuakhana constituency, Narah defeated Mahesh Doley of AGP.
- In the 1991 elections, from the Dhakuakhana constituency, Narah contesting on an AGP ticket, defeated Paramananda Doley of INC.
- And, in the 1985 elections, from the Dhakuakhana constituency, Narah contesting as an independent candidate defeated Raghunath Pemagam of INC.
In this year's Assam Election, he will be contesting on a Congress (INC) ticket from the Naoboicha constituency.
A case was filed against him for dishonour of cheques.
