Early Life

Kamalshing Narzary was born on 1st August 1960 to Late Khagendra Narzary and Binodini Narzary. He is a resident of Bijni town, Ward No. 1 in the Chirang district in Assam. He got married to Sabitri Narzary on 26th December 1981 and is blessed with two sons and two daughters.

Education

He passed Higher Secondary from the Gauhati University in the year 1978.

Career and Politics 

Kamashing Narzary is the sitting MLA from the Bijni Vidhan Sabha constituency of Assam. He is a 3-time MLA. He was elected for the first time in 2006 as an Independent, in 2011 and 2016 he was elected on a BPF ticket from Bijni. He is contesting the Assam Assembly elections 2021 for the fourth time from Bijni on a BPF ticket.

In the 2006 Assam Assembly election with 24,468 votes, he defeated CPI(M) candidate Gajendra Barman who got 21,650 votes. Narzary was contesting as an Independent candidate.

In 2011, Narzary on a BPF ticket, with 39,861 votes smoothly defeated Congress's Khalilur Rahman, who netted 26,536 votes. The voter turnout for that year was 85.34 percent. 

In 2016, Narzary again on a BPF ticket, won the election with 29,240 votes after a close fight against the Bharatiya Gana Parishad candidate Ajay Kumar Ray, who netted 27,562 votes. The voter turnout percentage for that year was 88.68 percent. 

Assets

According to the nominations filed with the Election Commission of India, his and his spouse's moveable assets are worth Rs. 21,13,230 and Rs. 4,04,708 respectively and his immovable assets are worth Rs. 52,60,000.
