Dibrugarh town is the headquarters of Dibrugarh District in Assam and one of the most important towns situated on the bank of River Brahmaputra about 435 km (270 mi) North East of Guwahati. It is one of the major towns of upper Assam. The total area of Dibrugarh district is 3,381 Sq. Km and population as per 2011census is 13,26,335.
