Barkhetry Assembly Constituency is one among the 126 Assembly Constituencies and it bears number 60. It falls under Gauhati Lok Sabha Constituency.

PARLIAMENTARY CONSTITUENCY:

Barkhetry falls under Gauhati Parliamentary Constituency. The Bharatiya Janata Party candidate named, Queen Oja won the Lok Sabha Election 2019 by securing 1008936 votes and Bobbeeta Sarma of the Indian National Congress party became the runner up by securing 663330 votes.

DISTRICT:

The administrative district Nalbari is located in Lower Assam and the headquarters of Nalbari district is situated at Nalbari. The district has an area of 2257 square km. The district has a total of 771639 population as recorded in 2011, from which the Assamese speakers were 662678, Bengali speakers were 84913 and the Bodo speakers were 19491 and 0.61% of the population speaks other languages.
