Jania is a large substantial village in the Brapeta region, Assam, India. Barpeta district is an authoritative district. Its headquarter is at Barpeta. The district has many important towns and villages namely, Barpeta, Howly, Barpeta Road, Bhabanipur, Sorbhog, Bahari, Sarupeta, Mandia etc, among them Barpeta Road is the largest town in the region. It is a commercial town. The district has 1,693,622 inhabitants which include, 867,004 males and 826,618 females. The district's neighbouring country is Bhutan towards the north.

Therefore he lost the MLA seat by 29736 votes.
