Shimla: Bollywood actor and BJP MP from Gurdaspur, Sunny Deol has tested positive for COVID-19, the Himachal Pradesh Health Secretary confirmed on Tuesday.
Deol was staying at Kullu district for a few days.
On Wednesday morning, the Bollywood actor also confirmed about his news via social media post and shared his health update for everyone to know to maintain social distancing.
He said: "I got my Coronavirus test done and the result is positive. I am in isolation and feeling well. I request all those who came in contact with me recently should isolate themselves and get tested too."
Earlier on, the health secretary said that the information received from the district chief medical officer, the MP and his friends were planning to leave for Mumbai soon, however, his COVID-19 result arrived and it was positive.
The 64-year-old Bollywood actor had undergone shoulder surgery in Mumbai and was recuperating at a farmhouse near Manali in Kullu district.
Last month, Salman Khan and his family had isolated themselves as Salman Khan's driver and two house staff tested positive for COVID-19.
The driver and his house staffs were admitted in a hospital and their medical expenses were borne by the actor's family.
The family cancelled their grand party plan for Salim Khan and Salma Khan's wedding anniversary.
The actor had wrapped up the shoot of his upcoming action-drama Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai in October. The film, which also stars Disha Patani, was scheduled for an Eid 2020 release, however, it had to be pushed indefinitely due to the pandemic.
