Meghalaya observes 3rd National Ayurveda Day

Shillong: Themed on "Ayurveda for Public Health", the 3rd National Ayurvedic Day was observed at Shillong by the Meghalaya Government's Directorate of AYUSH.

Speaking on the occasion, Health and family welfare Ministery AL Hek stressed the need to bring traditional healing practices under an organised sector. The Minister also spoke at length on the benefits Ayurveda holds in the day to day life.

A workshop on “Quality Council of India” support to Traditional Healers, “Ayurvedic approaches to cure human disease”, “Potential of herbs in the management of type 2 diabetes Mellitus” and “Ayurveda for public health & Preventive approaches”, was also held.

A "Run for Health" programme was also organised by the North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Homoeopathy (NEIAH)

Seven eminent Ayurvedic physicians and academicians from various North-eastern states were felicitated for their contribution towards propagation of Ayurveda in the region.
