Person behind the infamous 'Audio Clip' apprehended: Assam DGP

Person identified as Manoj Tamuli apprehended for spreading rumour regarding the ongoing recruitment drive in Assam Police.

Director General of Police (DGP), Assam Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta took to Twitter on Saturday to announce the person behind the infamous 'Audio clip' who was trying to spread rumors and misinformation regarding the ongoing recruitment drive for Sub Inspectors and Constables in Assam Police. The person was identified as Manoj Tamuli from Rajkhowa Gaon, Azad, Panigaon Police Station, Assam.

 Earlier, through a series of tweets, DGP Mahanta clarified that the recruitment is done by Assam State Level Police Recruitment Board under the Government of Assam with transparency.

"These recruitment drives are conducted by Assam State Level Police Recruitment Board under Govt. of Assam. These recruitment drives are held under strict and transparent policies, and open for scrutiny by all candidates." tweeted Mahanta.

He further urged the candidates not to fall for any rumours and report to the police authorities if they come across any such activities.

The State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB), Assam had earlier released the admit cards for the post of sub-inspectors recruitment examination on its official website. The recruitment examination is scheduled to be held on September 20 to fill the vacant post of 597 sub-inspectors.
