Severed Head Of Infant Recovered From Stray Dog in Dibrugarh, Assam

Reportedly, a stray dog was dragging away the newborn baby's severed head which was dumped inside a garbage bin according to police personnel.

Dibrugarh: In an astonishing incident, a severed head of a newborn baby was recovered by the Dibrugarh Police near the banks of the Brahmaputra river in the Moinajan area of Dibrugarh on 19 December.

Reportedly, a stray dog was dragging away the newborn baby's severed head which was dumped inside a garbage bin according to police personnel.

However, the police were unable to find the body of the infant.

It has been suspected by the police that the infant's body might have been eaten by the stray dogs as per the preliminary investigation.

A piece of paper containing the baby's medical records was also discovered by the police near the severed head.

It has been found that the baby was born on 18 December at around 8:15 pm and weighed around 2kg at the time of discharge.

Meanwhile, the spot where the head was found was inspected by the Dibrugarh Police along with other officials from the health department. The severed head was later taken to Assam Medical College Hospital (AMCH) for post-mortem.

Another brutal incident occurred on 20 December when a young girl was reportedly set on fire by a group of men in Barpeta district of Assam.

According to reports, the culprits suddenly arrived in a white swift Dzire car and set the young girl on fire in the Beki River Bridge on National Highway 36 in Barpeta Road.

The culprits immediately fled in the vehicle and also took the burned girl along with them.

However, the locals somehow managed to catch hold of one of the miscreants atop the bridge while he was attempting to vanish.
