GUWAHATI: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Sunday arrested a liquor smuggler along with 109 bottles of contraband Indian Made Foreign Whisky (IMFL) at the Kamakhya Railway Station.
According to RPF sources, the arrested person, one Shravan Kumar of Sitamarhi in Bihar, admitted that he was trying to smuggle the liquor, which was kept inside a trolley bag, to Bihar. Kumar said that he was planning to sell the liquor bottles at high rates in Bihar because sale of alcohol is currently prohibited in that State.
Kumar will be handed over to the Excise Department, the sources added.
