GUWAHATI: During the two days (November 4 and 5, 2021) of Deepawali festivities, Assam witnessed 242 road traffic accident cases. Of these, the highest number of 19 road traffic accident cases were logged in Sonitpur District followed by 17 in Dhemaji.
There were such 15 such accidents in Kamrup; 14 each in Golaghat and Morigaon; 12 each in Nagaon, Majuli and Tinsukia; 11 each in Cachar and Nalbari; 10 in Baksa; nine each in Kamrup (M) and Darrang; eight each in Barpeta, Goalpara, Jorhat and Sibsagar, seven each in Bongaigaon and Lakhimpur; five each in Dibrugarh and Karimganj; four each in Chirang, Karbi Anglong and Udalguri; three in Kokrajhar; two each in Dhubri, Dima Hasao and Hailakandi.
Sources added that on November 4, the maximum number of 129 cases were registered in the State while on November 5, the State logged 113 mishap cases.
BURNT CASES: Sources added that during the two days of Diwali in the State, there were 13 burnt cases.
