GUWAHATI, June 21: The National Sample Survey Office (NSSO), Field Operations Division (FOD), Guwahati organized a three-day Regional Training Conference (RTC) of 76th round of NSS survey at Hotel Palacio, Khanapara, from June 19 to 21, followed by field training. During the training, emphasis was given on the concepts, definitions and procedures for collecting information like drinking water, sanitation, hygiene, housing condition and survey of persons with disabilities. The field work of the survey will be started from July 1 and will last for six months. The survey will be conducted across Indian Union except some parts of Andaman and Nicobar.
On the last day of the RTC, Union Minister of State for Statistics and Programme Implementation and for Parliamentary Affairs Vijay Goel graced the occasion.
During the session, Goel interacted with officials and participants of the RTC and encouraged them to dedicate themselves in their work and collect information honestly. In his speech, Goel highlighted the importance of the information collected by the field officials in formulating national policies.
