36 cattle rescued from smugglers by Assam Police

A police team was able to rescue 36 cattle heads from cattle smugglers during an operation carried out at Digaru near the city.

GUWAHATI: A police team was able to rescue 36 cattle heads from cattle smugglers during an operation carried out at Digaru near the city.

An operation was carried out by a team from the Sonapur Police Station which comes under the East Guwahati Police District. This operation led to the interception of a truck bearing registration number AS 01 GC 9844 with 36 live cattle onboard. Three miscreants, including the driver, were also arrested by the police team during the operation and legal action has been initiated against them. According to reports, the smuggled cattle were being moved to Meghalaya.
