81,09,815 electorates can vote across 12 districts on March 27

Altogether 81,09,815 voters will be able to exercise their right to franchise during the first-phase of Assembly polls on March 27.

GUWAHATI: Altogether 81,09,815 voters will be able to exercise their right to franchise during the first-phase of Assembly polls on March 27. Of the total electorates, there are 40,77,210 males; 40,32,481 females; and 124 transgenders, mentions the latest data of the Election Department, Assam.

This phase of polls will be conducted in 11,537 polling stations across 47 LACs (Legislative Assembly Constituencies) spread over 12 districts of upper and middle Assam. The districts are Biswanath, Charaideo, Dibrugarh, Dhemaji, Golaghat, Jorhat, Lakhimpur, Majuli, Nagaon, Sibsagar, Sonitpur, and Tinsukia.

Jonai LAC (Legislative Assembly Constituency) in Dhemaji district has the maximum number of 3,11,660 voters. Of them, 1,58,206 are males; 1,53,453 females; and one transgender. On the other hand, Thowra LAC in Sibsagar district has lowest number of 1,15,364 voters. Of them, 58,368 are males, 56, 995 females; and one transgender.
