GUWAHATI: The Commissioner of Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has issued a letter mentioning the names of 60 agencies belonging to different wards, which must work under the ambit of the MSW rule, 2016.

The GMC has entrusted the agencies with door to door collection of waste. And the decision was taken as a modification to the earlier order vide no. GGR/C/43/2019/278 issued on March 30, 2023 following the Mayor in Council meeting held on February 9, 2023 and General Council meeting held on February 17, 2023.

Some of the agencies are New Life NGO for ward no. 1, Udayan Social Welfare Society for ward no. 2, Shikshalaya for ward no. 3, Manab Kalyan NGO for ward no. 4, Gyanleen NGO for ward no. 5 besides others.
