GUWAHATI: The Pratibandhi Suraksha Sanstha, Assam (PSSA) had expressed their anger over the failure to release the remuneration of disabled people on the tenth of every month.

Nripen Malakar, the Sanstha’s secretary, said, “The state government recently included the disabled in the Orunodoi scheme by discontinuing the Deen Dayal Divyangjan Pension Scheme. The government has also merged the Deen Dayal Divyangjan Pension Scheme with the Orunodoi Scheme, where every disabled person has been paid Rs 1250 since the month of April. But only a few people who were receiving pensions have received the amount on time in May instead of April.”

The disabled no longer have access to their rights under the BJP government, which was elected on an agenda of “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas.”

Malakar further said, “The BJP has betrayed the disabled by denying their accessibility of rights, and if remunerations are not released by next Monday, we will be forced to stage more protests in the future.”
