AGP begins 2024 Lok Sabha poll preparations

GUWAHATI: The AGP has started preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The party had its central executive meeting at its headquarters at Ambari today. Party president Atul Bora asked the party leaders and cadres to start preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha election.

Bora said, "We need to strengthen the party organizations, besides intensifying the membership drive. Apart from the Lok Sabha election, we have the Deori Autonomous Council election and the panchayat election. The party leaders and workers should prepare for all these polls on a war footing."

The party launched an online portal for membership drive today. The central executive meeting decided to carry out a drive to boost public relations of the party in the state. The renewal of the party started today. Party president Atul Bora, working president Keshab Mahanta, many MLAs and members of the central committee renewed their membership today.

Around 200 workers from Congress and the AIUDF joined the AGP before the executive committee meeting today.

The meeting decided to observe the foundation day of the party - October 14 - with daylong programmes.
