Guwahati: Ahead of Bakrid, the Guwahati Police, on Tuesday night, seized two vehicles for illegally smuggling cattle.
The Basistha police nabbed four people for their alleged involvement in the smuggling, including the drivers.
As per reports, around 10 cattle have been recovered from the two vehicles bearing registration numbers AS 01 MC 1162 and AS 13 AC 3332.
According to police, the cattle were being smuggled from Chhaygaon in the Karmup district and Darrang district to Guwahati when they were intercepted.
The detained individuals have been identified as Manik Ali and Jahidul Islam, residents of Chhaygaon in the Kamrup district. The other two are Aajgar Ali of Hatigaon and Pankaj Das from Darang.
