AHSEC introduces e-books, YouTube classes for students amidst lockdown

GUWAHATI: The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC), the official state board for higher secondary classes, has released e-books and YouTube classes for the students.

Talking to The Sentinel, AHSEC deputy secretary (academic) Anurupa Choudhury said that the council introduced e-books for class 12 students on April 23. The students of science, arts and commerce streams can download the e-books in pdf format from the council website – www.ahsec.nic.in.

Some of the subjects are –Assamese, Bengali, English, Political Science, Economics, Swadesh Adhyay, Physics, Chemistry, Mathemetics, Accountancy, and Business Study.To download the e-books, the students will have to visit the website than click on the menu button and select their choice of books.

Further, Choudhury said that the initiative has received a positive response from both the teachers and students.

Moreover, the council launched YouTube classes for students in the channel Edu Aid, on Friday.

“Students can find lectures on various topics delivered by experienced faculties. On Friday, lectures on three subjects of commerce stream were uploaded on the YouTube channel” Choudhury added.

According to a release by the AHSEC, the students can find the classes on –https://YouTube.com/c/EduAid India. For more details, the students can send a Whatsapp message stating “AHSEC” to 9477194771. Currently, the students can take online classes of Business Studies from Monday to Saturday, Accountancy on Monday and Thursday and Economics on Tuesday and Friday.

Meanwhile, On April 22, AHSEC the controller of examinations issued an order to promote all the higher secondary first year students to class 12 without conducting the examinations. The exams were scheduled to be held from March 25 to April 10 and the higher secondary academic session has started from today.
