GUWAHATI: AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal mentioned that the recently published delimitation draft of the constituencies is against the interests of the Muslim population in the state.
He said, “The delimitation process has been done to fulfil the political aspirations of one party and has been done under the pressure of the BJP. They have tried to decrease the number of Muslim voters in the state’s constituencies. This is a master plan of the BJP and has been supported by the Congress party. It has been done under an understanding between the BJP and Congress. AIUDF will be at a loss from this process, while Congress will see no losses.” He also mentioned that he would present the matter to the Election Commission of India and request corrective measures.
