GUWAHATI: The Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP), Paschim Guwahati Anchalik Committee slammed the State government for opening a new toll gate in Sonapur.
The AJYCP Paschim Guwahati Anchalik Committee stated that the government's decision to open a new toll gate in Sonapur is unfortunate for the people of Assam as both the Centre and the State are in economic crisis due to the corona pandemic.
In a release, AJYCP Paschim Guwahati Anchalik Committee president Kuldeep Baruah said that the government has only opened the toll gate to generate money. The new toll gate is not acceptable at any cost because in one side there is corona and on the other side there economic crisis. The committee submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Sarbanada Sonowal through Kamrup (Metro) Deputy Commissioner, on Wednesday. In the memorandum, the committee stated that they will stage a protest if toll gate is not shut down by the government.
