GUWAHATI: The All Assam Sanyogi Siksha Karmi Union (AASSKU) has reiterated their demand to the government to reappoint the Siksha Karmis without conducting the special TET (Teacher Eligibility Test).

In this regard, an AASSKU delegation met Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu and submitted a memorandum that stated that the special TET should be cancelled and the candidates who have received the admit card should be reappointed.

It is to be noted that it has been a longstanding demand of the Sanyogi teachers to the government to reappoint the teachers.

Following their demands, the Education Department decided to conduct the special TET on February 28. However, due to the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct, the examination was cancelled.

According to the AASSKU, the Education Minister has stated that the department is in favour of conducting the examinations as soon as the COVID situation improves.

The AASSKU delegation included president Abul Kalam, secretary Mridul Rajbongshi, among other members.
