All Assam Students' Union, AHSEC discuss HS exam

Leaders of the All Assam Students' Union (AASU) on Thursday held detailed discussions with the chairman, secretary and controller of examinations of the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) regarding the forthcoming Higher Secondary examination.

GUWAHATI: Leaders of the All Assam Students' Union (AASU) on Thursday held detailed discussions with the chairman, secretary and controller of examinations of the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) regarding the forthcoming Higher Secondary examination.

Later, AASU general secretary Sankor Jyoti Baruah told the media that the AHSEC officials assured the student leaders that "the examination will be held 100% as per syllabus and each question will have adequate choices."

Baruah said that the AHSEC officials further informed that results of the pre-final examination have been preserved as a contingency in case the examination has to be cancelled at the last moment due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The AASU leader said that they demanded separate seating arrangements be made for COVID-19 infected candidates and, if required, the number of examination centres should be increased.

It may be mentioned that 2,15,022 candidates will sit for the examination across four streams - Arts, Science, Commerce and Vocational - from March 15..
