GUWAHATI: The All Assam Tribal Sangha (AATS) congratulated former MP and Paneri MLA Biswajit Daimary for being elected as the Speaker of the 15th Assam Assembly.

Further the Sangha hoped that during his tenure as the Speaker of the House, a special session will be held in order to hear and acknowledge the issues faced by the tribal people of the state. "As a MLA Daimary was a successful leader and raised the issues related to the northeast in front of the parliament house," said the Sangha's sectary Aditya Khakhlari.

"As now he is the Speaker we believe that the Assembly will equally work towards the growth and development of people irrespective of caste and religion," he added Khakhlari.
