Addressing the media, the Association's secretary Jamsedur Rahman stated, "According to the Assam Education (Provincialization of Services of Teachers and Re-organization of Educational Institutions) Act, 2017 we joined our duties before December 31, 2012. We had also received a one-time assistance granted by the government and the Officer of the District Elementary also acknowledged our posts. However, due to various reasons we were not able to fill our names in the UDISE (Unified District Information System for Education). Due to this, we were deprived of the provincialization process. It is mandatory for schools to have a UDISE number to appoint teachers but, it is not mandatory for teachers to have the same.
