GUWAHATI: A single bench of the Gauhati High Court comprising Justice Suman Shyam has called a preliminary report from the DGP on the alleged abduction and confinement of Golap Patar so as to prevent petitioner Kangkana Bordoloi Patar from submitting her nomination papers for the general election of Tiwa Autonomous Council. The order stated that the Morigaon SP and the OC (Officer-in-Charge) of Jagiroad Police Station were allegedly responsible for the abduction and confinement of Patar..

In her petition Kangkana Bordoloi Patar said that her husband Golap Patar was abducted and confined in Jagiroad Police Station by the two police officers, and as such prevented her from filing nomination papers for the TAC election.

The bench directed the government advocate to take necessary steps for obtaining the preliminary report from the DGP. The case has been listed for December 16, 2020.
