GUWAHATI: Amidst tight security, Guwahati city witnessed two loots in broad day-light. An SB Goods Carrier worker Basistha Pathak, after having withdrawn 8 lakh from HDFC Bank, Fancy Bazaar, put 3 lakh in his pant pocket and the rest 5 lakh in a bag. As he was making his way towards his bike on the opposite side of the bank, a biker zoomed in and snatched Pathak’s bag on Wednesday. Meanwhile, a couple Sampa Roghan Das and husband Babul Das, after having withdrawn 2 lakh from Lokhra Central Bank, made their way home near Forest Office in their four-wheeler. As they reached home, Sampa who had the money in her bag, got out to open the gate when someone called her from behind. As she turned around to see who it was, a biker snatched her bag and fled.
