GUWAHATI: The Pratibandhi Suraksha Sanstha Assam (PSSA) has levelled allegations of serious anomalies in the results of the examination for recruitment to 511 Grade-IV posts that are reserved for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).

PSSA secretary Nripen Malakar told the media on Wednesday that the results, which were declared on Tuesday evening, clearly indicate that the examination was tainted. He said that a tripartite discussion was held on February 8 this year between the State Government, the Gauhati University authority and representatives of various organizations representing the PwDs. It was decided that preference would be given to candidates on the basis of age and degree of disability. However, the results indicate that this was not done.

Malakar further said that the PSSA had earlier submitted a written complaint to the Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities about anomalies in the examination, which was held in 2021, and at a subsequent hearing on April 5 the Gauhati University authorities had agreed to submit details regarding the examination at another meeting on April 28.

However, the results were suddenly announced last night, he said.

Malakar demanded immediate intervention in the matter by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
