GUWAHATI: Following the significant road mishap on the newly inaugurated Nilachal flyover, another accident was reported within 24 hours near the flyover in the Kamakhya Gate area on Sunday morning.
According to sources, a DI pickup van plying on the Nilachal flyover bearing registration number ML10 C 5644 was heading towards Bharalamukh from Maligaon. The vehicle lost control and collided with a Swift car bearing registration AS01 HC 3592, causing damage to the vehicle. As a result, the pickup van turned turtle. No injuries have been reported. The driver of the pickup van fled from the scene. The Jalukbari Traffic Police arrived at the spot. It may be mentioned that a similar accident was reported on Saturday, where at least one person died on the spot and several others succumbed to injuries after a speeding truck hit four motorcycles and a bus atop the flyover.
