Anti-corruption branch conducted raid at SEBA office, Bamunimaidan

GUWAHATI: A 12-member team of Anti-corruption branch conducted a raid at the SEBA office, Bamunimaidan on Friday and apprehended Assistant Secretary Hemanta Deka. The raid was conducted following a complaint by an HSLC student who was allegedly asked a bribe of Rs 10,000 by Deka to correct his father's name on the HSLC certificate. Deka was allegedly caught red handed while accepting the bribe. According to reports, various important documents were seized and raids will also be conducted at his residence.
