APCC panel for two Hindustan Paper Corporation paper mills constituted

GUWAHATI: The APCC (Assam Pradesh Congress Committee) has constituted an eight-member panel to urgently look into the various issues of the two paper mills owned by the HPCL (Hindustan Paper Corporation Limited) at Jagiroad and Cachar in the State.

The 'HPC Employees Redressal Committee' of the APCC is headed by MP (Member of Parliament Pradyut Bordoloi. The two vice chairmen — who are also working presidents of APCC — are MLAs Kamalakhsya Dev Purkayastha and Jakir Hussain Sikdar.

The other four members of the panel are ex-Minister Ajit Singh, MLA Sashi Kanta Das, Ramesh Bordoloi, and Tamal Kanti Banik. The convenor is Arun Tiwari.

The APCC panel was formed by the party's State president Bhupen Kumar Bora. The development took place following the notice of the liquidator directing the employees of the paper mills to vacate the quarters/ accommodation within 15 days. The notice was issued on Friday (September 3, 2021).
