ARPSS to stage 3-day noncooperation from today in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The Assam Rajyik Prathamik Shikshak Sanmilani (ARPSS) is going to stage a three-day-long noncooperation agitation from Thursday in which the members will demonstrate outside their respective schools.

The ARPSS reiterated their demand for the Government to create posts for headmasters in lower primary schools.

It also urged the Government to roll back the decision to withdraw graduate teachers' grade pay of Rs. 8,700.

Addressing the media ARPSS secretary-general Ratul Chandra Goswami stated, "Till date, the Government has not released the 5% dearness allowance (DA) of the contractual teachers. It has also not released the funds for the teachers who have passed away during their service tenure."

Goswami underlined that if the government doesn't meet their demand then it will gherao all district education offices in the State on February 20.
