GUWAHATI: The Gauhati High Court has directed the Managing Director of the Assam Plains Tribe Development Corporation Limited to appear before the court and apprise the court as to when the outstanding arrear salary and retirement benefits of the employees of the Assam Plains Tribe Development Corporation Limited will be disbursed.
During a hearing in writ petitions, the court was informed that an amount of Rs 2 crore had been sanctioned by the Governor of Assam for payment of the outstanding arrear salary and retirement benefits of the employees of the Assam Plains Tribe Development Corporation Limited. The amount had been earmarked in the Supplementary Demand Budget of December, 2022. Many petitioners filed the writ petitions stating that they had not received the arrear salary and retirement benefits. The court order stated that the dues in respect of the petitioners pertains to arrear salary as well as the retirement benefits. Hence, it directed the Managing Director of the Assam Plains Tribe Development Corporation Limited to appear in the court on 27.04.2023 and apprise the court as to when the amount payable to the petitioners in the writ petitions would be disbursed.
