ASDMA to go digital, make people aware about disasters including Covid pandemic

The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) has decided to use digital technology to create awareness among the people to tackle disasters including the Covid-19 pandemic.

GUWAHATI: The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) has decided to use digital technology to create awareness among the people to tackle disasters including the Covid-19 pandemic.

Towards this end the ASDMA will implement a pilot project to digitally carry out its Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities to create awareness among the people to take various safety measures in the time of disasters. The pilot project will be implemented in Kamrup (Metropolitan), Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Cachar and Bongaigaon districts. The ASDMA will use digital billboards in these districts to create awareness.

A recent meeting of the State Executive Committee of ASDMA held under the chair of State Chief Secretary Jishnu Baruah had approved the project. Necessary funds for the project have also been approved during the meeting.
