GUWAHATI: A key ally of the ruling alliance, AGP (Asom Gana Parishad) on Thursday got a shot in the arm with 150 persons joining the regional party at a function in the AGP headquarters in Ambari here. Of the new entrants, some were from the AJP .

Welcoming the new members, AGP president Atul Bora said, "Regionalism still holds great significance in Assam. I appeal to our new members to dedicate themselves for the welfare and development of the people of Assam." He added, "The AGP is always with the people of Assam. So, the coalition government of the BJP -AGP-UPPL (United People's Party Liberal) will carry on more welfare schemes for the people of the State."
