GUWAHATI: "The Congress-led 'Mahajoot' which is giving guarantee to the masses is not being able to give guarantee about its candidates. Thus it is sending its candidates outside the State and blaming other parties of horse trading," said AGP (Asom Gana Parishad) president Atul Bora during an interactive session with the media here on Monday.

Taking potshots at the Congress, Bora said that the former considers its candidates as commodities which is why it has stated that the Mahajoot candidates are 'not for sale'.

"It is unfortunate that the parties are sending their candidates outside the State. On the other hand, the BJP-led Mitrajoot has gained strength by witnessing the overwhelming support from the people during its rallies," said Bora.

The AGP president asserted that the BJP-led alliance will form the next government in the State. However, he refused to comment on the number of seats the Mitrajoot will secure.

"The verdict of the voters is in the favour of the Mitrajoot. The people will form the government and it will be a strong one," Bora added.

AGP working president Keshab Mahanta was also present during the interactive session, among other leaders.
