Asom Gana Parishad to hold series of rallies to gear up, motivate workers

The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), the oldest regional political party in the State, will organize a series of rallies and meetings from Saturday (November 28) in a bid to strengthen the organizational setup and motivate the party workers ahead of the 2021 Assembly elections.

GUWAHATI: The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), the oldest regional political party in the State, will organize a series of rallies and meetings from Saturday (November 28) in a bid to strengthen the organizational setup and motivate the party workers ahead of the 2021 Assembly elections.

The first rally will be held at Naoboicha Assembly constituency in Lakhimpur district on Saturday. A party workers' meeting will be held at Lakhimpur town on Saturday evening.

Another rally will be held in Dhemaji on November 29, to be followed by rallies at Biswanath Chariali on December 1, Bokakhat on December 6, Patacharkuchi on December 10 and Lakhimpur on December 12. Senior party leaders will attend and address the rallies.

The AGP recently organized similar rallies at Chabua and Naharkotia in Dibrugarh district. A workers' meeting was also organized in Barpeta district.

The AGP president Atul Bora said with only four months left for the 2021 Assembly elections the party is gearing up to enthuse its leaders and workers across the State. He said the AGP has already constituted its districts committees and constituency committees before the party's general conference held recently.

Bora said the upcoming rallies will infuse life into the new committees in districts and constituencies.
