Talking to The Sentinel, AGP president Atul Bora said, "The BJP-AGP-UPPL alliance is running the government in Assam. Although our party had fielded no candidate, as an alliance partner we will support and campaign for BJP and UPPL candidates. I was present during the submission of nomination paper by a BJP candidate and I will also campaign for BJP and UPPL candidates."

The AGP president further said, "Bhabanipur got the first martyr of the Assam Movement, Khageswar Talukdar. So I appeal to the people of Bhabanipur to vote for the BJP candidate and reject political parties which support suspected citizens."
