GUWAHATI: In order to ease the mutual transfer of teachers, an online portal for the transfer of teachers was opened so that teachers could submit their applications for transfers in various districts. But the portal has not been accepting applications April 6, which has led to a chaos for the teachers. In this regard, the ASPTA (Assam State Primary Teachers’ Association) has urged the Education Minister Ranoj Pegu to intervene in this matter.

On July 11, 2022, ASPTA had a meeting with Ranoj Pegu where they discussed the mutual transfer of the state pool and the contractual teachers under Sarba Siksha Abhiyan (SSA), and on that note, Pegu promised to take action and solve the issue. On December 22, 2022, Ranoj Pegu tweeted, “Now, SSA and state pool contractual teachers can apply for inter-district mutual transfer through our teacher transfer portal (https://hrmsassam.in)”.

On Saturday, the ASPTA wrote a letter regarding the hassle in the portal, stating that applications were not accepted. After the new portal was opened, many teachers applied for mutual transfers.

The association has asked Pegu to look into this matter, and demanded that necessary actions should be taken as soon as possible, including reopening of the portal.
