GUWAHATI: A delegation of officials of the Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM), headed by State Mission Director Krishna Baruah, visited the Assam Migration Support Centre (MSC), located in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, on Sunday.

The objective of the Assam Migration Support Centre is to provide various services to the migrant workers of Assam currently staying in South India since a large number of people from Assam go there in search of livelihood. These people face a number of challenges during their stay, and this facility acts as a “Home Away from Home” for the migrant workers, where they can seek medical support to solve other problems, including empowering themselves with financial knowledge. The Assam Migration Support Centre is capable of accommodating 30 people at a time with its facilities.

The MSC is operated by Gram Tarang Employability Training Services and has been operational since March 24, 2023. The team of officials interacted with the MSC staff and guided and motivated them to continue their services to the DDU GKY candidates working across South India. Apart from the officials of the ASRLM, representatives of various companies also attended the event, along with the ACP of the Tamil Nadu Police.
