Assam Assembly Election 2021: Meeting on expenditure monitoring measure today

The State CEO (Chief Electoral Officer) will interact with the representatives of all the recognized political parties on the new expenditure monitoring measures during the ongoing Assembly Election process on March 1, 2021

GUWAHATI: The State CEO (Chief Electoral Officer) will interact with the representatives of all the recognized political parties on the new expenditure monitoring measures during the ongoing Assembly Election process on March 1, 2021 at Assam Administrative Staff College at 11 am. Besides, the CEO will also interact with the journalists of all media houses at state-level to explain the provision of Section 127 –A of RP Act, 1951 and the instructions of ECI on advertisements and paid news, for the forth coming Assembly Election 2021 at the same venue, a press release said.

Meanwhile, in view of the Assembly elections over 1.34 lakh defacements were carried out on first two days after announcement of election schedule by Election Commission of India. With Model Code of Conduct coming into force removing of banners, hoardings and white washing activities were carried out by teams engaged by the District Administration. Out of the above mentioned figure 50,927 banners, hoardings; 7,34,069 posters were removed and 10,085 white washing activities were ensured, another press release said.
