Assam Assembly Election: Ticket aspirants crowd Rajiv Bhawan in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Ticket aspirants crowded the Rajiv Bhawan in Guwahati on Saturday for contesting the forthcoming Assembly election as Congress candidates.

In a notice issued on Friday, the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) sought applications from eligible Congress members who intend to contest as Indian National Congress candidates in the ensuing Assembly Elections, 2021. The proforma of application can be collected from Rajiv Bhawan, Guwahati. It can also be collected from the district Congress committee offices concerned.

Applicants have to deposit an amount of Rs. 40,000. The amount is Rs 20,000 each for ST and SC candidates. Moreover, all women applicants except for ST & SC seats will have to deposit an amount of Rs. 25,000.

This part, each of the applicants will have to deposit Rs 5,000 each in the District Congress and Block Congress committees. The last date for the submission of applications is February 10, 2021.
