Assam: Best Performing Units recognized for crucial fight against Tuberculosis

GUWAHATI: In a State Level Review meeting of the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP), Dr. M S Laxmi Priya, IAS, Mission Director NHM Assam, Dr. Abhijit Basu, State TB Officer, and Dr. Palash Talukdar, Consultant - WHO HQ, NTEP, commended outstanding efforts in tuberculosis control. The spotlight was on the Manikpur Tuberculosis Unit, Bongaigaon district, as it was recognized as the Best Performing Unit and received an award in the ceremony.

Adding to the accolades were Mushalpur Tuberculosis Unit, Baksa district, and Kajalgaon Tuberculosis Unit, Chirang district, both receiving recognition as Best Performing Units in the crucial fight against tuberculosis. The awards were presented during a ceremony held at the esteemed Assam Administrative Staff College in Guwahati, where the tireless contributions of healthcare professionals were celebrated.

This occasion underscored the commitment of healthcare units across districts, emphasizing their pivotal role in advancing the goals of the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme. Dr. M S Laxmi Priya, in her role as Mission Director NHM Assam, lauded the dedication and excellence demonstrated by these units, highlighting their significant impact on tuberculosis control efforts in the region.
